“Inflection Sells Archives.com to Ancestry.com Inc”. – I am disappointed. I am a member of Ancestry.com and find I still can’t get all the available records unless I pay again to join these “other sites” such as Archives.com and Fold3. When, if ever, will Ancestry truly give its members all the available records with their very costly subscription?

They will not be combining all of their companies into one. Fold3 is specific to military research, Newspapers has special newspapers and Archives has it’s own special collections. They are separate entities for those folks that need more. If the combined them all into one pay site, your subscription would go up. A subscription, by the way, that is less than a dollar a day and the cheapest on the web.
OH and while I’m at it: way to stay on topic.

when you join Ancestery you should be able to get all you provide at no extra cost

So very true its all call greedy nomatter how you look at it.

I agree. I have Ancestry and a membership to Fold3 and a membership to Newspapers. Don’t you think for $250.00 per year you should provide this information in the package.

Totally, totally agree… It’s like the National Inquirer “come-on” headlines… always a disappointment. Don’t let Ancestry.com get the same reputation.

I absolutely agree!!!! I too have the World Membership and that should cover every site Ancestry owns for the amount they charge. It won’t be long before Find-A-Grave (Yes, Ancestry bought that one too!!) will also be a pay site. Fold3, Genealogy.com, Ancestry, Archives.com, the list goes on with separate charges for each site. Ridiculous!!!!

I do not have notes or scripts. I will be writing a lot of these up as how to articles in the coming weeks and months.

Great reminders, had forgotten about restricting locations.

You must moderate my ‘good job’ comment but leave all these whiner comments?
